The Department of Environmental Science offers two Master of Science in Environmental Science programs, one specializing in Environmental Planning and Management and another in Environmental Research, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Science, all structured around core coursework in environmental science, laws and policies, impact assessment, research methodology, and statistics, followed by specialized major subjects (e.g., environmental planning, community-based management, analytical techniques, monitoring) and a broad range of electives in areas such as resource conservation, geology, climatology, pollution prevention, waste management, GIS and remote sensing, ecology, and toxicology, with each program totaling about 38 units that include graduate seminars, comprehensive examinations, and the completion and defense of either a master’s thesis or a doctoral dissertation with required residency.
