Application and Admission

Minimum Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree, or Master's degree, from a recognized institution is required for admission to a master’s or doctoral program, respectively.

  2. For an applicant to a master’s program or to a doctoral degree program, should have an undergraduate Grade-Point-Average (GPA) OF 2.00 or better, and for an applicant to a doctoral program, a GPA of 1.75 or better in master’s program; or some evidence of potential ability to pursue a graduate degree, e.g., excellent performance in teaching or research, etc.

  3. Evidence of suitable background or its equivalent in the field of study sought.


The above criteria shall be enforced through (a) examination/evaluation of scholastic credentials, (b) recommendation from two former professors and/or distinguished authorities in the field/discipline sought, (c) character reference, (d) personal interview, (e) admission test, and (f) concept paper of the possible research topic or any appropriate means. 


Applicants must submit all required credentials to the Program Coordinator/Adviser in the Department at least 2 weeks before enrollment. Credentials are evaluated by the Program Coordinator/Adviser and are endorsed to the college/center for further appraisal and approval.

  • PSA Birth Certificate (Photocopy)

  • Income Tax Return (own or parents)

  • 1 long brown envelope

  • 1 long green expanded envelope

If applicable:

  • Marriage Certificate for Female (Photocopy)

STEP 2. The Program Coordinator evaluates the application and interviews the applicant.

STEP 3. The student receives a copy of the Notice of Admission.

STEP 4. The student downloads, prints, and accomplishes the [payment slip for admission], then proceeds to the Institute Cashier for payment.

STEP 5. The student submits the required application documents to the Admissions and Registrar's Offices.

STEP 6. The student proceeds to the Program Coordinator for enrollment.

STEP 7. After receiving the Certificate of Registration (COR), the student proceeds to ICTC(Now CITC) at the CCS Building for school ID processing. The student also registers a MY.IIT account online by following the instructions indicated in the COR.

In the case of a student seeking admission to the graduate program whose English proficiency is low, the student will be advised to satisfy the English proficiency requirement before the student can be admitted as a regular student.

Submission of the Accomplished Forms to the DES Department Chairperson

  • Transcript of Records(Original or Photocopy)

  • Honorable Dismissal (For non-MSU-IIT students) & Transfer Credentials (Original and Photocopy)

  • Comprehensive Research Plan

    • Format: single-spaced, A4-sized, and 5-7 pages

    • Content: Introduction, Background of the Study, Significance, Review of Related Literature, Materials and Methods, and Gantt Chart

INSTITUTE

  • 1 Copy of Transcript of Records

  • 1 Copy of PSA Birth Certificate

  • 1 Copy of Good Moral Certificate

  • 1 Copy of Honorable Dismissal/Transfer Credentials (For non-MSU-IIT students)

  • 1 Certification - Graduated from the Program with GWA or General Weight Average from the School Registrar

  • 1 2x2 Photo

NOTE: (For Environmental Science only) If the application is approved, the applicant can submit an deferment form if they will abstain form enrolling in the following semester. Download the form here. Do not forget to make a copy first.
